Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Black hole No. 2 (24 Rainbow Gradation.left) by Ay-O was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2003. The price achieved of USD 5,377.50 (€ 3,259.09) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ay-O achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rainbow Landscape B in October 2018 with an auction result of HKD 812,500.00 (€ 91,488.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Black hole No. 2 (24 Rainbow Gradation.left) von Ay-O kam im September 2003 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.377,50 (€ 3.259,09) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ay-O erzielen.
