In November 2002 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work A rowing boat on a lake by Axel Birkhammer. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 258.50 (€ 404.80), 29% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Axel Birkhammer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A man rowing in an extensive lake landscape in January 2002 with an auction result of GBP 998.75 (€ 1,640.95).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 29 % übertroffen
Im November 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A rowing boat on a lake von Axel Birkhammer zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 258,50 (€ 404,80) und damit 29% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Axel Birkhammer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A man rowing in an extensive lake landscape im Januar 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 998,75 (€ 1.640,95).
