Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Avinash Chandra was sold in the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online auction at Christies in New York in March this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,410.00 (€ 4,056.29) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Avinash Chandra achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 75,000.00 (€ 104,906.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Avinash Chandra wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.410,00 (€ 4.056,29) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Avinash Chandra erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 75.000,00 (€ 104.906,27).
