In the California, Western and American Paintings, Drawings, and Sculpture auction, the work Winter Ride sold for USD 1,875.00 (€ 1,478.47) - well above the upper estimate of USD 800.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Austin Deuel; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Pursuers sold at auction in March 2003 with the realized price of USD 1,912.00 (€ 1,754.13).
