Auction result well in line with expectations
The work On the Nile near Luxor; and A camel train leaving the settlement by Augustus Osborne Lamplough was sold in the 19th Century European Art auction at Christies in London in May 2016. The price achieved of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,914.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 4,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Augustus Osborne Lamplough - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An Arab On A Camel Surveying The Desert At Dusk, which sold at auction in January 2015 for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 12,477.30).

Die Arbeit On the Nile near Luxor; and A camel train leaving the settlement von Augustus Osborne Lamplough wurde im Mai 2016 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.914,68) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Augustus Osborne Lamplough mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit An Arab On A Camel Surveying The Desert At Dusk beobachtet, die im Januar 2015 für GBP 9.375,00 (€ 12.477,30) versteigert wurde.
