In January 2016 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work A Camel Rider In The Desert; A Camel Train In The Desert; And A Desert Lookout by Augustus Osborne Lamplough. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,639.31), 63% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Augustus Osborne Lamplough; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot An Arab On A Camel Surveying The Desert At Dusk sold at auction in January 2015 with the realized price of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 12,477.30).
