Auction result well in line with expectations

In November 2000 Christies in New York held the auction Arts of France, which included the work A view of the coast at Le Havre by La Hève, with a fishing boat moored at a quay and peasants resting before an inn by Auguste-Xavier Leprince. The price achieved of USD 28,200.00 (€ 32,436.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Other works by Auguste-Xavier Leprince have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in June 2007 the work La Moisson was auctioned for EUR 60,000.00.
