Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Tanka boats on the river between Macao and Canton, a pagoda beyond by Auguste Borget was sold in the Topographical Pictures including Selections from the Kelton Collection auction at Christies in London in October 2019. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,089.62). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Auguste Borget - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Elegante asiatische Gesellschaft unter Palmengruppe sitzend. 1841., which sold at auction in September this year for CHF 12,500.00 (€ 12,919.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Tanka boats on the river between Macao and Canton, a pagoda beyond von Auguste Borget wurde im Oktober 2019 in der Auktion Topographical Pictures including Selections from the Kelton Collection bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 5.250,00 (€ 6.089,62) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Auguste Borget mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Elegante asiatische Gesellschaft unter Palmengruppe sitzend. 1841. beobachtet, die im September diesen Jahres für CHF 12.500,00 (€ 12.919,26) versteigert wurde.
