Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2020 Christies in New York held the auction Outsider Art, which included the work Weibliche Mamba!, 1993 by August Walla. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,929.78) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by August Walla achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ewigkeitendegottt, Sein Engel in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 68,750.00 (€ 81,118.24).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Outsider Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Weibliche Mamba!, 1993 von August Walla zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.250,00 (€ 2.929,78) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von August Walla erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ewigkeitendegottt, Sein Engel im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 68.750,00 (€ 81.118,24).
