Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Monastic Meal by August von Wille was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,115.00 (€ 2,995.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by August von Wille have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Im Klosterkeller in May 2013 with an auction result of EUR 14,835.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Monastic Meal von August von Wille kam im Dezember 2003 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.115,00 (€ 2.995,62) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von August von Wille auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Im Klosterkeller im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 14.835,00.
