Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,387.32) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by August von Siegen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Street Scene in the Levant, Afternoon, which sold at auction in October 2006 for USD 31,200.00 (€ 24,426.52).
