The work Bauernkapelle (Country Band) by August Sander was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in December this year. It achieved a price of USD 4,352.00 (€ 3,934.19), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 45%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by August Sander achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Porträts aus „Menschen des 20. Jahrhunderts“. in November 2019 with an auction result of EUR 949,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 45 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Bauernkapelle (Country Band) von August Sander kam im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 4.352,00 (€ 3.934,19) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 45%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von August Sander erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Porträts aus „Menschen des 20. Jahrhunderts“. im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 949.000,00.
