Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Two Polish Officers by Arthur Szyk was sold in the The Political Cartoon Collection of Jeffrey Archer auction at Sothebys in London in March 2018. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,134.79) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Szyk achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work General Macarthur in March 2018 with an auction result of USD 43,750.00 (€ 35,511.36).

Die Arbeit Two Polish Officers von Arthur Szyk wurde im März 2018 in der Auktion The Political Cartoon Collection of Jeffrey Archer bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.134,79) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arthur Szyk erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit General Macarthur im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 35.511,36).
