Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2006 Christies in Melbourne held the auction Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II, which included the work Shoalhaven River With Swan by Arthur Boyd. The price achieved of AUD 74,090.00 (€ 44,563.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Arthur Boyd have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Australian Man Ploughing A Field in May 2007 with an auction result of AUD 660,000.00 (€ 405,821.75).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2006 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Shoalhaven River With Swan von Arthur Boyd zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 74.090,00 (€ 44.563,16) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Arthur Boyd auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Australian Man Ploughing A Field im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 660.000,00 (€ 405.821,75).
