In March 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work Sunset On The Coast, With A Lighthouse In The Distance by Arthur Meade. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,380.00 (€ 1,977.29), 73% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arthur Meade - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A lonely road, which sold at auction in May 2004 for GBP 2,868.00 (€ 4,303.06).

Im März 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sunset On The Coast, With A Lighthouse In The Distance von Arthur Meade zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.380,00 (€ 1.977,29) und damit 73% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Arthur Meade mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A lonely road beobachtet, die im Mai 2004 für GBP 2.868,00 (€ 4.303,06) versteigert wurde.
