Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2002 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work Sir Francis Drake at Cadiz by Arthur David McCormick. The price achieved of GBP 1,762.50 (€ 2,759.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arthur David McCormick - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nelson boarding HMS Victory on 14 September, 1805, which sold at auction in October 2005 for GBP 5,040.00 (€ 7,432.48).

Im November 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sir Francis Drake at Cadiz von Arthur David McCormick zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.762,50 (€ 2.759,98) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Arthur David McCormick mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nelson boarding HMS Victory on 14 September, 1805 beobachtet, die im Oktober 2005 für GBP 5.040,00 (€ 7.432,48) versteigert wurde.
