Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Arthur Joseph Gaskin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2014. In the A Green and Pleasant Land: Two Centuries of British Landscape Painting auction, the work Back Of 13 Calthorpe Road, Moonlight sold for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,536.29) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 600.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Arthur Joseph Gaskin; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot 'The searchlight' sold at auction in November last year with the realized price of GBP 1,912.50 (€ 2,216.15).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Arthur Joseph Gaskin erzielte im Mai 2014 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion A Green and Pleasant Land: Two Centuries of British Landscape Painting wurde die Arbeit Back Of 13 Calthorpe Road, Moonlight für GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.536,29) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 600,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Arthur Joseph Gaskin; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit 'The searchlight' im November letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 1.912,50 (€ 2.216,15).
