Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Arthur Briscoe could be acquired at Christies in London in May 2010 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Maritime Art auction, the work Orford White Wings racing on the River Alde changed hands for GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,929.10) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Briscoe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Decks Awash in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 33,600.00 (€ 49,866.61).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Arthur Briscoe konnte im Mai 2010 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Maritime Art wechselte die Arbeit Orford White Wings racing on the River Alde für GBP 2.500,00 (€ 2.929,10) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 4.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arthur Briscoe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Decks Awash im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 33.600,00 (€ 49.866,61).
