Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2009 a collector was able to acquire the work Gorse in flower on the Isle of Wight by Arthur Hopkins for GBP 600.00 (€ 656.62). This price was achieved in the auction Victorian and British Impressionist Pictures including Drawings and Watercolours at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 700.00 – 900.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Hopkins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Fantasy Of The Deep in July 2017 with an auction result of GBP 90,000.00 (€ 100,426.18).
