Auction result well in line with expectations

In June 2005 Christies in London held the auction MARITIME PICTURES AND WATERCOLOURS, which included the work Cattle Grazing Before A Ruined Tower On The Coast At Sorrento by Arthur Glennie. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 420.00 (€ 622.47) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Glennie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Roma, Il Ponte Milvio in November 2004 with an auction result of EUR 11,408.00.

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im Juni 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion MARITIME PICTURES AND WATERCOLOURS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cattle Grazing Before A Ruined Tower On The Coast At Sorrento von Arthur Glennie zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 420,00 (€ 622,47) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arthur Glennie erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Roma, Il Ponte Milvio im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 11.408,00.
