In February 2002 Christies in New York held the auction FINE AMERICAN PAINTINGS, DRAWINGS AND SCULPTURE, which included the work The Surprise Party by Arthur Davenport Fuller. The »bidding war« ended at USD 9,987.50 (€ 11,535.57), 66% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Arthur Davenport Fuller; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Not this Trip, Old Pal sold at auction in February 2002 with the realized price of USD 15,275.00 (€ 17,642.64).

Im Februar 2002 führte Christies in New York die Auktion FINE AMERICAN PAINTINGS, DRAWINGS AND SCULPTURE durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Surprise Party von Arthur Davenport Fuller zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 9.987,50 (€ 11.535,57) und damit 66% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Arthur Davenport Fuller; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Not this Trip, Old Pal im Februar 2002 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 15.275,00 (€ 17.642,64).
