Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Interior with a cat by Arthur Briët was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in January 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 2,160.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arthur Briët - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A winterscene with peasants putting on their skates, which sold at auction in January 2001 for NLG 15,275.00 (€ 6,684.04).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Interior with a cat von Arthur Briët kam im Januar 2007 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 2.160,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Arthur Briët mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A winterscene with peasants putting on their skates beobachtet, die im Januar 2001 für NLG 15.275,00 (€ 6.684,04) versteigert wurde.
