Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Arnold Boonen could be acquired at Bonhams in London in April last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Paintings auction, the work Portrait of a gentleman, bust-length, in black changed hands for GBP 1,657.50 (€ 1,976.51) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arnold Boonen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A candlelit interior with a young man seated at a table, lighting his pipe in May 2007 with an auction result of EUR 108,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Arnold Boonen konnte im April letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master Paintings wechselte die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, bust-length, in black für GBP 1.657,50 (€ 1.976,51) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arnold Boonen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A candlelit interior with a young man seated at a table, lighting his pipe im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 108.000,00.
