Despite a disappointment, a good price for Arnold Böcklin
In December 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Die Nacht, 1870 by Arnold Böcklin for CHF 1,176,000.00 (€ 791,575.83). This price was achieved in the auction Swiss Art at Christies in Geneva and was even below the estimate range of CHF 1,200,000.00 – 1,500,000.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, Die Nacht, 1870 is the most expensive artwork by Arnold Böcklin that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Arnold Böcklin
Im Dezember 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Die Nacht, 1870 von Arnold Böcklin für CHF 1.176.000,00 (€ 791.575,83) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Swiss Art bei Christies in Genf erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von CHF 1.200.000,00 – 1.500.000,00. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Die Nacht, 1870 das teuerste Kunstwerk von Arnold Böcklin, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
