In June 2008 Sothebys in Paris held the auction 19th Century Paintings and Drawings, which included the work Cavalier Cubain by Armando Ménocal. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 19,950.00 66% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Armando Ménocal - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Paisaje Con Carroza E Ingenio (Landscape With Carriage And Sugarmill), which sold at auction in May 2008 for USD 67,000.00 (€ 43,059.13).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 66 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2008 führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion 19th Century Paintings and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cavalier Cubain von Armando Ménocal zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 19.950,00 und damit 66% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Armando Ménocal mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Paisaje Con Carroza E Ingenio (Landscape With Carriage And Sugarmill) beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für USD 67.000,00 (€ 43.059,13) versteigert wurde.
