This artwork by Arie Smit achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in December last year. In the 20th Century Art Day Sale auction, the work Red Sky and Sea sold for HKD 529,200.00 (€ 63,416.94) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 280,000.00. Admittedly, works by Arie Smit have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Padi Fields in May 2019 with an auction result of HKD 3,605,000.00 (€ 412,591.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 89 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Arie Smit erzielte im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Red Sky and Sea für HKD 529.200,00 (€ 63.416,94) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 280.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Arie Smit auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Padi Fields im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.605.000,00 (€ 412.591,26).
