The work Bali South, Indian Ocean by Arie Smit was worth HKD 375,000.00 (€ 39,554.37) to a buyer in December 2020. This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary Art Morning Session at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 120,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arie Smit achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Padi Fields in May 2019 with an auction result of HKD 3,605,000.00 (€ 412,591.26).

Die Arbeit Bali South, Indian Ocean von Arie Smit war einem Käufer im Dezember 2020 HKD 375.000,00 (€ 39.554,37) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art Morning Session bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 120.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arie Smit erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Padi Fields im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.605.000,00 (€ 412.591,26).
