Auction result well in line with expectations
In September last year Bonhams in London held the auction Travel & Exploration, which included the work Geylang, Singapore by Aquilla Agnes Seekings. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 637.50 (€ 725.54) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Aquilla Agnes Seekings - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fruit market, Singapore, which sold at auction in September last year for GBP 1,402.50 (€ 1,596.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Travel & Exploration durch, in der auch die Arbeit Geylang, Singapore von Aquilla Agnes Seekings zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 637,50 (€ 725,54) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Aquilla Agnes Seekings mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fruit market, Singapore beobachtet, die im September letzten Jahres für GBP 1.402,50 (€ 1.596,18) versteigert wurde.
