Auction result well in line with expectations

The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 11,250.00 (€ 8,494.41) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Antonio Casanova y Estorach - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Sick Monk, which sold at auction in October 2008 for USD 31,250.00 (€ 24,641.22).
