In May last year Bonhams in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work The S.S. New York Outward Bound 18 1/8 x 30 in. (46 x 76.2 cm.) by Antonio Jacobsen. The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,200.00 (€ 9,505.17), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Antonio Jacobsen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Racing Schooners in September 2011 with an auction result of USD 224,500.00 (€ 166,926.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The S.S. New York Outward Bound 18 1/8 x 30 in.
