Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Italian In The Harem by Antonio Gargiullo was sold in the European Paintings including The Orientalist Sale, Symbolism and the Poetic Vision and Spanish Painting auction at Sothebys in London in November 2008. The price achieved of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,312.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Antonio Gargiullo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Message, which sold at auction in October 2006 for USD 27,600.00 (€ 21,608.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Italian In The Harem von Antonio Gargiullo wurde im November 2008 in der Auktion European Paintings including The Orientalist Sale, Symbolism and the Poetic Vision and Spanish Painting bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.312,39) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Antonio Gargiullo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Message beobachtet, die im Oktober 2006 für USD 27.600,00 (€ 21.608,08) versteigert wurde.
