Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings and Sculpture, which included the work Christ With Saints James, Francis And Andrew Behind A Balustrade by Antonio Arias Fernández. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 32,500.00 (€ 29,150.60) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Antonio Arias Fernández - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Saint Francis, which sold at auction in May 2018 for GBP 56,250.00 (€ 64,053.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master Paintings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Christ With Saints James, Francis And Andrew Behind A Balustrade von Antonio Arias Fernández zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 29.150,60) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Antonio Arias Fernández mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Saint Francis beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für GBP 56.250,00 (€ 64.053,66) versteigert wurde.
