A top price for Antonio Campi - as previously expected
In July 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Drawings, which included the work Recto: Five Studies Of Prophets And Sybils Verso: A Seated Prophet And A Standing Figure by Antonio Campi. The price achieved of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 13,290.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Recto: Five Studies Of Prophets And Sybils Verso: A Seated Prophet And A Standing Figure is the most expensive artwork by Antonio Campi that we have observed at auctions so far.
