In July 2005 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work A river landscape by Antal Berkes. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 540.00 (€ 783.26), 54% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Antal Berkes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Paris street at night in April 2003 with an auction result of GBP 3,760.00 (€ 4,899.02).

Im Juli 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A river landscape von Antal Berkes zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 540,00 (€ 783,26) und damit 54% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Antal Berkes auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Paris street at night im April 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.760,00 (€ 4.899,02).
