Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Ansel Adams and the American West: Photographs from the Center for Creative Photography, which included the work Sequoia Gigantea Roots, Yosemite National Park, California, c. 1950 by Ansel Adams. Here, the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,793.71). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ansel Adams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Grand Tetons and the Snake River, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 988,000.00 (€ 807,849.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Ansel Adams and the American West: Photographs from the Center for Creative Photography durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sequoia Gigantea Roots, Yosemite National Park, California, c. 1950 von Ansel Adams zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 8.750,00 (€ 7.793,71) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ansel Adams erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Grand Tetons and the Snake River, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 988.000,00 (€ 807.849,55).
