This artwork by Ansel Adams achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in February last year. In the A Grand Vision: The David H. Arrington Collection of Ansel Adams Photographs auction, the work Mirror Lake, Yosemite National Park sold for USD 63,000.00 (€ 56,129.72) - well above the upper estimate of USD 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ansel Adams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Grand Tetons and the Snake River, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 988,000.00 (€ 807,849.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 80 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ansel Adams erzielte im Februar letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion A Grand Vision: The David H. Arrington Collection of Ansel Adams Photographs wurde die Arbeit Mirror Lake, Yosemite National Park für USD 63.000,00 (€ 56.129,72) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 35.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ansel Adams erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Grand Tetons and the Snake River, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 988.000,00 (€ 807.849,55).
