This artwork by Ansel Adams achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in December 2020. In the A Grand Vision: The David H. Arrington Collection of Ansel Adams Masterworks auction, the work Half Dome sold for USD 27,720.00 (€ 22,665.58) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ansel Adams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Grand Tetons and the Snake River, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 988,000.00 (€ 807,849.55).

Oberer Schätzpreis um 85 % übertroffen

Arrington Collection of Ansel Adams Masterworks wurde die Arbeit Half Dome für USD 27.720,00 (€ 22.665,58) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ansel Adams erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Grand Tetons and the Snake River, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 988.000,00 (€ 807.849,55).
