It achieved a price of USD 11,970.00 (€ 10,664.65), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 71%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ansel Adams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Grand Tetons and the Snake River, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 988,000.00 (€ 807,849.55).

Die Arbeit Cathedral Rocks, Yosemite Valley von Ansel Adams wurde im Februar letzten Jahres in der Auktion A Grand Vision: The David H. Arrington Collection of Ansel Adams Photographs bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 11.970,00 (€ 10.664,65) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 71%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ansel Adams erzielen.
