Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2002 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included this untitled work by Ann Thomson. The price achieved of AUD 3,525.00 (€ 1,987.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ann Thomson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Propel, which sold at auction in March 2006 for AUD 10,755.00 (€ 6,348.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2002 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Ann Thomson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 3.525,00 (€ 1.987,87) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Ann Thomson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Propel beobachtet, die im März 2006 für AUD 10.755,00 (€ 6.348,10) versteigert wurde.
