Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work In Place of Light 2 by Ann Christopher was auctioned at Bonhams in London in December 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 956.25 (€ 1,068.22). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ann Christopher - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Found Line - 5, which sold at auction in March 2015 for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,802.02).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit In Place of Light 2 von Ann Christopher im Dezember 2020 bei Bonhams in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 956,25 (€ 1.068,22) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Ann Christopher mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Found Line - 5 beobachtet, die im März 2015 für GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.802,02) versteigert wurde.
