Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2008 Christies in London held the auction Maritime Art, which included the work The French '74' Mont Blanc and other vessels off Marseilles by Ange-Joseph-Antoine Roux. It changed hands for a price of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 11,153.11) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ange-Joseph-Antoine Roux - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An important series of twenty-two watercolours depicting various traditional craft operating in Mediterranean coastal waters and a fine view of the imposing entrance to the port of Marseilles, on eleven double sided sheets, bound into a red leather a, which sold at auction in May 2005 for GBP 18,000.00 (€ 26,57
