Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A xebec lying at anchor in the Mediterranean (recto) (illustrated) and study of a xebec (verso) by Ange-Joseph-Antoine Roux was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,344.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ange-Joseph-Antoine Roux achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An important series of twenty-two watercolours depicting various traditional craft operating in Mediterranean coastal waters and a fine view of the imposing entrance to the port of Marseilles, on eleven double sided sheets, bound into a red leather a in May 2005 with an auction result of GBP 18,000.00 (€
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A xebec lying at anchor in the Mediterranean (recto) (illustrated) and study of a xebec (verso) von Ange-Joseph-Antoine Roux kam im November 2010 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An important series of twenty-two watercolours depicting various traditional craft operating in Mediterranean coastal waters and a fine view of the imposing entrance to the port of Marseilles, on eleven double sided sheets, bound into a red leather a im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.000,00 (€ 26.573,65).
