Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2010 Christies in London held the auction Maritime Art, which included the work A brig lying at anchor with her topmast down, probably laid up and out of commission by Ange-Joseph-Antoine Roux. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 875.00 (€ 1,045.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ange-Joseph-Antoine Roux achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An important series of twenty-two watercolours depicting various traditional craft operating in Mediterranean coastal waters and a fine view of the imposing entrance to the port of Marseilles, on eleven double sided sheets, bound into a red leather a in May 2005 with an auction result of GBP 18,000.00 (€
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A brig lying at anchor with her topmast down, probably laid up and out of commission von Ange-Joseph-Antoine Roux zur Versteigerung kam. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An important series of twenty-two watercolours depicting various traditional craft operating in Mediterranean coastal waters and a fine view of the imposing entrance to the port of Marseilles, on eleven double sided sheets, bound into a red leather a im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.000,00
