In April 2016 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art, which included the work Ophir Road by Ang Ah Tee. The result of HKD 40,000.00 (€ 4,506.60) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ang Ah Tee have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pagoda Street, Chinatown in April 2018 with an auction result of HKD 225,000.00 (€ 23,741.10).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im April 2016 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ophir Road von Ang Ah Tee zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 40.000,00 (€ 4.506,60) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ang Ah Tee auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pagoda Street, Chinatown im April 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 225.000,00 (€ 23.741,10).
