Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction The Macklowe Collection, which included the work Nine Marilyns by Andy Warhol. The price achieved of USD 47,373,000.00 (€ 41,971,294.41) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000,000.00 – 60,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Andy Warhol have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion The Macklowe Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Nine Marilyns von Andy Warhol zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 47.373.000,00 (€ 41.971.294,41) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000.000,00 – 60.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Andy Warhol auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Shot Sage Blue Marilyn im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 195.040.000,00 (€ 181.753.797,41).
