Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2019 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work Mao by Andy Warhol. The price achieved of HKD 300,000.00 (€ 34,148.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 240,000.00 – 400,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
