The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,125.00 (€ 11,296.96), 63% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).

Die Arbeit Crosses, 1982 von Andy Warhol wurde im Mai 2015 in der Auktion 20/21 Photographs: Photographs selected by James Danziger bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 11.296,96) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andy Warhol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shot Sage Blue Marilyn im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 195.040.000,00 (€ 181.753.797,41).
