In October 2021 Christies held the auction Photography of the Civil War: Property from The Metropolitan Museum of Art, which included the work Pontoon Bridge Across James River, Virginia, June 1864 by Andrew Russell. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,033.41), 63% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Andrew Russell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work East Meets West, Shaking Hands At The Laying Of The Last Rail, Promontory Point, Utah, which sold at auction in October 2010 for USD 25,000.00 (€ 17,993.38).

Im Oktober 2021 führte Christies die Auktion Photography of the Civil War: Property from The Metropolitan Museum of Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pontoon Bridge Across James River, Virginia, June 1864 von Andrew Russell zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.033,41) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Andrew Russell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit East Meets West, Shaking Hands At The Laying Of The Last Rail, Promontory Point, Utah beobachtet, die im Oktober 2010 für USD 25.000,00 (€ 17.993,38) versteigert wurde.
