Auction result well in line with expectations
The work L'autel dans l'arbre près du fleuve (The altar on the tree near the river) by André Maire was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in October 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 45,000.00 – 55,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 45,410.00 (€ 5,891.67) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by André Maire - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Scène de plage, which sold at auction in July 2021 for EUR 18,900.00.

Die Arbeit L'autel dans l'arbre près du fleuve (The altar on the tree near the river) von André Maire kam im Oktober 2002 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 45.000,00 – 55.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 45.410,00 (€ 5.891,67) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von André Maire mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Scène de plage beobachtet, die im Juli 2021 für EUR 18.900,00 versteigert wurde.
