Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Ana Mendieta could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in September 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Photographs auction, the work Untitled: Silueta Series, Mexico changed hands for USD 11,875.00 (€ 10,889.50) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ana Mendieta achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (From the Fetish Series) in February 2008 with an auction result of GBP 102,500.00 (€ 134,065.98).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ana Mendieta konnte im September 2019 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Photographs wechselte die Arbeit Untitled: Silueta Series, Mexico für USD 11.875,00 (€ 10.889,50) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ana Mendieta erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (From the Fetish Series) im Februar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 102.500,00 (€ 134.065,98).
